He's a thumb sucker!

I unwittingly conned my doctor into doing another ultrasound! I was nervous because I wasn't feeling the baby as much as usual. The nurse sent me to the ultrasound clinic to be "monitored," and they ended up doing an ultrasound. Yay . . . more pictures! This is Billy at 25 1/2 weeks.

The first two pics are of Billy sucking his thumb! Definitely a habit we're going to have to break early! I mean, c'mon people, I'm a speech pathologist! The next one is of his big 'ole feet. I'm happy to see that his toes look proportioned. It doesn't look like he has a crazy long 2nd toe like me, which, my mother informed me, is called 'Morton's toe.'

Merry Christmas!

Sam HATES when I put clothes on him, but he looks so cute!

We had an awesome Christmas this year! We certainly missed our 3 week vacation to Arizona that we have enjoyed the past two years as graduate students, but it was also nice to spend Christmas together as a couple. We did miss being with our families, though. This was the first Christmas away for me, and Jay's first since his mission. Here are some things that we missed:
-See's candy - it's always plentiful at the Brimhall house! Some company actually gave my department at work a box, but my co-workers definitely did not appreciate the awesome goodness (they had never heard of it before) so I brought the box home for Jay and me!

-Poop logs - My mom makes chocolate candy and rolls it up in a log shape; enjoy the visual! (Thanks for sending us some, mom!)
-Christmas Eve dinner at the Brimhall's - mmm, yum
-Playing games with the Layton family
-Seeing our nephew Konrad - who we haven't seen since February when he was 1 month old!
-Going to Rocky Point, Mexico with the Brimhall's
-Watching Sam play with his cousins Bear, Dewey, and Olivia
-Getting together with friends

-Seeing our studly, volleyball playin' niece (Heather) and nephew (Eric)
-Watching Sam chase Maya as she runs screaming - thank goodness for our trip to San Antonio for Thanksgiving!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, too!

It's time

Everybody has a blog these days. This is how I stalk some of my old friends from BYU, and they don't even know it. Ha! Jay started a blog a few years ago (the template, anyway), but we never even added a post, and then just forgot about it. But things have changed. We're having a baby in a few months, so I need to assume my moral obligation to post cute pictures of the craziness that will soon consume our life! But you'd better bet there will be many of our adorable dog, too!

On December 12th, we had our ultrasound and found out that we are having a boy (April 20th is my due date). That was such an amazing experience. It is incredible to see the detail in the pictures, especially the 4D ones.

(face, fingers, foot)

Dec 12th was also a great day because Jay graduated! Yay! He is now a Master . . . of Public Administration.
